What does a Mini Bible College group really look like?

Yesterday, we had the honor to visit a Mini Bible College group in Rwanda- in between visiting two church-orphanages. There are wonderful people here-- but many do not have access to a Bible and in fact are unable to read. So how do we fulfill the Great Commission to "go and tell" in such circumstances? The "God pods," little devices that contain the four-year audio Bible study in 30 minute teaching segments, are indeed a God-send for many people in Rwanda. This shows one of those groups using the device. So if you are reading this, Dick Woodward, the Word is alive and well in many parts of Rwanda. But so many more need churches and God pods here.....

Cugaro Church Dedication

Celebration Dance

Today was an incredible day…we had the opportunity to be a part of a church dedication service! We leave for Rwanda tomorrow (Monday, November 12), so what a wonderful way to spend our last day. Brian, one of our teammates, preached at the dedication service, and there were many other special songs, talks and prayers that took place at Cugaro Church.

The choir was phenomenal, and so inspirational. They knew how to make a joyful noise for sure…dancing and singing! The joy was felt by all of us, and we were so honored to be a part of the worship service.

Tomorrow, we head to Rwanda…so excited to see what God has in store!!

Joy in Burundi, Christ is here

We were welcomed by hundreds of children as we visited projects today. It was amazing to see smiles on their faces and the joy of the Lord in their hearts.

Burundi - Day 1

The Vision Team finished its first day in Bujumuri Burundi. With the nourishment of breakfast and devotion, the team visited the Gasenyi Free Methodist Church (the first ICM church built in Burundi), the building site for a daughter church in Mukingiro and a MBC Group Study.  At Gasenyi, the atmosphere was electric with wonderful music, dancing, prayer, devotion and most of all His tangible presence.    After sharing lunch and fellowship, the Team moved onto Kagongo Church which had recently been rebuilt after a storm.  The congregation honored Him with beautiful music, testimony and prayers.   Lastly, the Team attended the dedication of the Nyamugari Church Orphanage and witnessed the Lord's work in this community recovering from civil war.   The day was very inspiring as we see and feel God's presence changing and saving lives.  Very tired and yet still excited about the prospect of continuing this trip.   God bless.

Welcomed in Bujumbura, Burundi

The ICM Vision Team was welcomed in Bujumbura, Burundi this afternoon at the airport on beautiful sunny afternoon, not far from Lake Tanganyika. The welcoming team from Rehabilitation, Evangelism and Literacy (REAL) included orphans showing their gratitude with bouquets of flowers and several pastors from the surrounding area.

Bujumbura

This is a picture of the view I have while eating breakfast at the hotel. I arrived before the team who are all currently waiting for their flight from Addis to Bujumbura.

Looking forward to the time we have with our partner in Burundi.
