Peru Day 2 ... Ninos y Ninas

Yesterday's theme of "open the eyes of my heart Lord" flowed into today and continues to be the theme. Everyplace we go, there are so many boys and girls that are in situations of extreme poverty. One example of what we heard today in one community, there literally aren't any jobs anywhere. The parents must travel 3 hours one way just to try to get to where they can earn money to feed their family. Then 3 hours home…can you imagine this. It almost seems hopeless. And then, there is the church. Making a massive impact in the community. The church is the only thing that is bringing hope to this and all of the communities that we fell in love with today. Praise Jesus! He loves these people so much and they know it.

We were so blessed to experience a little change of pace today…on some trips we have been so blessed to have the members of the church wash our feet as our Lord did for the apostles. We were blessed to be allowed to wash the feet of the children in one Hope Center and feed them as well. God is alive and well here in Peru and The Holy Spirit was ever present…Thank you Jesus!

Peru has been nothing short of Spirit Filled

We landed in Lima late Wednesday evening. The overwhelming hospitality, caring and love of our partners never ceases to amaze me. At 11:30pm, we were still greeted by a large group of people who had beautiful smiles on their faces and hugs for everyone. They had a bus waiting for us and as we exited the airport in the cool Lima evening, we were off to our hotel to get a good night's rest for our first full day to come.

After breakfast and a wonderful devotion from Todd … a little singing, "open the eyes of my heart" we were off! We met several of our partners from Peru and they took us on a tour of Lima. The architecture in the city is amazing. The Presidents home, Cathedrals and much more. A visit a church and Hope Center topped off our first day. Our team is getting to know one another while allowing The Holy Spirit to have His way with us. Thank you for your prayers. We have seen already MANY children and the need for the church is unmistakable. More to come.
